It can produce a sensation of ringing, hissing, buzzing, chirping, whistling, or additional noises. This feeling can be periodic, ceaseless, or throbbing. Loud and ambient noise may also be contributing factors. In some cases, tinnitus is caused by an infection or blocked ear.
